With over 46 years of distinguished service in the steel and mining industries, Mr. S.K. Basak brings unmatched experience, vision, and leadership to Basak Consultants & Associates.

An alumnus with dual degrees—M.Tech and MBA—along with a Specialized Diploma in Logistics Management, he has held leadership positions across multiple functions, culminating his corporate career as Executive Director at SAIL and Chairman of S&T Mining (a joint venture of SAIL & Tata Steel).

Throughout his journey, he has been deeply committed to advancing industry standards and professional excellence. Under his chairmanship, the Kolkata Chapter of the Indian Institute of Metals was recognized as the Best Chapter in 2024.

Beyond his professional achievements, he actively contributes to the industry and society through his association as a Fellow/Member of The Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Institute of Metals, Quality Circle Forum of India, All India Management Association, and several chambers of commerce and trade associations.

Today, as the Chairman of Basak Consultants & Associates, he continues to guide industries with strategic insights while pursuing his passion for excellence, innovation, and giving back to society.
